Use it wisely...

Ladies and Gentlemen, behold. The new Humor America content reporter of pure amazingness.

I have entirely re-written the Humor America comment reporter from scratch. The old comment reporter system (originally made by Achilles) was horribly unflexible, I didn't have access to the database the script accessed when comments were flagged, and was therefore able to make very little changes to the system.

So I have re-scripted a brand new one for Humor America! Way better than the old system, in every possible way.

Improvements of this new content reporter, over the old comment reporter:
  • You saw it! It's no longer just a comment reporter! With my new system, users will now be able to flag posts as well as comments.
  • Considerably less lag than before (just about none). This code is about six times shorter than Achilles' old code, yet it has twice the functionality.
  • Users will now be asked for a reason when flagging content. This is mainly to prevent the flagging of comments due to personal quarrels between users.
  • The flagger's username will be recorded with every flag. That way, moderators can contact the flagger, if they so wish. You can no longer flag a comment without being logged in.
  • The content reporter is moving away from the old comment highlighting system. Instead, all reports will now be sent to the moderators through automatic PM notifications. That way the moderators will be informed of a report sooner.

Note: When you send a report, your account will be used to send the PM notification to the moderators. This is much more practical, as it will allow moderators to respond to users (if they so wish) with ease.

Well, now you know how it works! Enjoy!
I may be making some more updates to it in the future, if I can think of new things to add. Suggestions for new features in the content reporter are welcome too.

Hey since this site is running well with scripts and stuff, maybe you could set up a full domain name?

Having your own domain costs money. Since this site is entirely run by minors, I doubt that's going to happen...

Yes, all domains cost money. The Plexpedia domain costs money too. Humorameria.plexpedia.com is only free because it's hosted under the Plexpedia domain name.
