Humor America, PointyBagels, Discussions

As many of you probably already know, it would seem that a user here has taken the liberty of launching a competing site to Humor America.  It would also seem that the reason behind this is that there is moderation on Humor America.  While I personally feel that the moderators have been doing a good job and that the deletion of content has been minimal, I am open to suggestions.  So, let's discuss this issue a bit more openly.

The Censorship is to a degree, superb. But, the community should get together and write better guidelines for them. Mad flaunts their authority.

As is stated on the Forum Rules thread, community members can come forward with their own suggestions for rules. Your suggestions will always be taken into account, and if it is decided NOT to implement them, a rational reason will always be given.

I don't like the way ThePancakes moderates; it's too strict for this site in my opinion.

I would like to point out that, as it stands, every post but one that is currently on PocketMAD's website WOULD be allowed on humoramerica.  The only reason that the one is not allowed is that it has custom scripting.

I agree that pancakes may have been modding too strictly, but that is an easily fixed problem.

It seems to me petty copying, and he went on to list bogus reasons like:

When the first HA crashed, you copied it to put it back up.

-_- BECAUSE IT WAS DESTROYED, REMEMBER?!?

Additionally, if TheDude wanted HumorAmerica back, I would give it to him.  I would not attempt to split the userbase, which as I said, makes everyone lose.

I have been ignoring PocketMAD (by refusing to speak to him) for several weeks because of his pretentious, pontificating, supercilious, sanctimonious, bigoted, ego-maniacal, attention-seeking, self-aggrandizing, unscrupulous, and smart aleck mannerisms. He's made himself unworthy of any recognition from me, even now with his inappropriate and immature "rebellion" to this site. I rather ignore him than endure his conversations with the aforementioned qualities.

I encourage those who remain loyal to Humor America to continue on and ignore PocketMAD's site. In fact, Humor America may thrive even more in the absence of PocketMAD.

Well let me express this first: I never intended to create a competing site. If you would assume Humor Us was a competing site for HA, then wouldn't Southwestern Spam be as well? These websites all have a purpose to spread humor. Now I understand that I have copied HA design and name but I changed it with not a bit of resentment for HA. It has a totally different CSS and name now.

Now try to look at it from my viewpoint. As a faithful member of HA (for over a year), I have contributed a great deal to it. Why would I want to destroy it?

Secondly, I believe that moderation…on a random-friendly site is a little outrageous and inappropriate. HA has been perfectly fine without moderation for how many years it has been up. And THEpancakes with his humorous passive-aggresive and controlling moderating and personality isn't helping it. Eric has been a pretty good faithful moderator. (Off-topic: you can list so many falsities about one person, Eric. Literally anyone can have it done to them.) But with his little fits here and there, it gets annoying. Now I have to face them quite a lot on HA. I can't take it anymore.

I hope you understand me. I mean no harm.

PErhaps we can put this all behind us?

Agreed. Though I disagree with your stance on certain topics, over all, we should put this behind us.

I took the site down. I changed the name, everything.
You can see what I did here.

Im thinking of making something similar to HA, but it isn't HA,
Something like -aagf-.
