Humor America, THEpancakes, Documents

Hi everyone,

As HA continues to grow PointyBagels, Eric, and myself have decided to implement a few rules here to ensure you have a clean experience on Humor America.
Below you should find a few simple rules about posting and commenting on this website - what to do, and what not to do.

_______________________________________________________________________________________

So here they are, the new Humor America's Forum Rules:
  • All content posted on Humor America MUST be appropriate for all ages. Posts which contain any form of inappropriate content will be removed. The creator of the post may be given a chance to edit the post and then republish, depending on the nature of the inappropriate content.
  • Keep from pointless/spammy posts! Posts which are short, spammy, or do not convey a substancial idea will be hidden/removed. Excessive capitalisation is considered mild spam. Any form of advertising for third parties is strictly prohibited on Humor America.
  • The use of swear words on Humor America is forbidden, with the exception of "crap", "damn" and "WTF". Posts or comments containing excessive unnecessary cusses will be removed/hidden.
  • Puppeteering is strictly prohibited on Humor America. As of now, any user found using a puppet account to post inflamatory or unsubstancial content will be severely sanctionned.
  • Posts which are used as public PMs or notice boards will be resolved after 24 hours or less, depending on the relevance of the content.
  • Flaming is not tolerated! Keep it friendly, or risk the removal of your comment/post.
_______________________________________________________________________________________

There are currently three moderators on Humor America, there to ensure you have an enjoyable experience on HA, and to keep this website clean and spam-free.
They are:
  • PointyBagels (administrator)
  • TheCyberMan
  • THEpancakes
If you have any questions regarding moderation on Humor America, or wish to report a post or comment, please PM one of these three people.

Additionally, here is a link to the Humor America moderator log, which will allow you to see what the mods are doing.

 _______________________________________________________________________________________

Lastly...
And most importantly...

Have fun!

Additional Directive:

Why not classify LCW also as our General Discussion post?

And? Is censoring the insult wars truly nesesary?

And how are you going to sanction people? Give them a time out?

I didn't know ThePancakes censored something in the Insult Wars, lol. Just send him or me the comment which was hidden so one of us may re4consider its removal.

I presume the punishment for pupeteering would be a temporary ban, where the moderators hide all posts henceforth or to a specified date. The loose rules give us room to decide a punishment. If you just avoid using puppets in the first place, you have nothing to worry about ;)

By the way, I'm fine with you guys going a little off topic here and there since this site is intended to be fun.

There is no way for you to find out. Ergo, if you do it it will be hacking.

Because there is a reason that you're not telling me.

I am doing something similar to what achilles did. Expoesed a flaw.
Only this time I don't actually do the thing.

You don't even know how we'll find out if you're puppeteering, so you're hardly exposing a flaw, PocketMAD. As Eric said, just stay away from puppeteering and you have nothing to worry about.

@ PanzerAce: I did not censor anything on the Insult Warz thread. The log clearly states that I re-activated the comment immediately after removing it.

Everyone has to stay away from puppeteering. Owning puppet accounts has always been discouraged, I hope you personally have never owned any.

There is a reason why you are hiding your ways from us. Its because you don't want people to know. That means it is something looked down upon the community.

I can assure you I have never done such a thing. I'd be interested to know on what grounds you are accusing me of this.

No, I am not accusing you of puppeteering. I am not accusing you at all.

I am asking this: why are you not telling me your method of figuring out IF someone is puppeteering.

If we ever need to, we will place scripts on posts that can monitor the IP addresses of the visitors, as well as their usernames.

If any of the IPs match, we'll know it's a puppet!

Humor America will always be relatively lightly moderated either ways.
These rules, I must admit, will never be upheld strictly; this is a humour site remember?

These rules are more like guidelines. Your post/comment will not NECESSARILY be removed if it does not comply with the rules, but keep in mind there is still a risk it will.

Yes. The poster is allowed to make special rules for his post, as long as they do not clash with the Forum Rules. However, I doubt the mods will get involved if the comment on that post disobeys a post-specific rule, unless it really is a bad infraction.

That comment has now been removed. Ratchet, please refrain from these kind of violent insults, like this one, and another comment by you I removed recently: "Cuts Yoshi's head off with chain saw. I can't stand you".
Violence in comments will not be tolerated.

And you claim to be a Christian.

Listen, you can say how bad pocketMAD is all you want, but that still doesn't mean that you can be a total jerk. I am sick and tired of your constant flaming of pocketMAD preceded or followed by that stupid unamused smiley.

1 Peter 3:9 says: "Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing." (ESV)

Romans 13:1-7 Says: "Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, for he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoer. Therefore one must be in subjection, not only to avoid God's wrath but also for the sake of conscience. For because of this you also pay taxes, for the authorities are ministers of God, attending to this very thing.  Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed."

In case you haven't noticed, if pocketMAD is your authority, whether you like it or not, you'll have to do what he says. If you don't like it, then stay the hell off of the forum.

Your stupid flames and pointless bickering will stop right now, I have had enough.

You claim to be a Christian, so freaking Act Like One.

~Oaky

Oh, and one last verse before I go. Just so we're clear.

John 13:35 By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.

Thank you.

EDIT: If this seems like too much of a rant, I'll remove it. But I wanted to get a point across to Ratchet.
